Environmental advice and environmental coordination for a waste sorting - and crushing plant

Simon Eggermont Soil and Demolition, focused on the processing of mixed waste, has in recent years grown into a thriving company and a well-known name in the region of Deinze. From demolition to transport, sewerage works to car parks, they offer a wide range of services to the food sector, industrial buildings and private individuals.

A second company was founded in 2019: Re-Eggermont. This company specialises in the processing of mixed waste, crushing, recycling and container services. This way, the parent company will be able to process its own waste.

Every day, containers can be spotted on their site with waste that they sort in anticipation of further processing. Waste rubble and soil with stones, often from their own demolition yards, but also from other contractors, are also processed here. The rubble is mechanically processed, sieved and crushed. The soil is also sieved.

Profex has done a lot of effort for this dynamic company. Together with the client and the architect, our experts were responsible for the environmental strategy. Our environmental experts drew up a permit application for the storage, sorting and mechanical processing of waste materials. All possible emissions to the environment were described according to the client's specifications and, in addition, a noise study was drawn up by a recognised expert. The desired deviations from the sectoral permit conditions were included in the application. Our approach in the preliminary discussions with advisers was also appreciated.

Thanks to the proactive and pragmatic approach of the Profex team and the good cooperation with the architect, the permit file was submitted and RE-Eggermont obtained its environmental permit. In addition, one of our experts is a permanent environmental coordinator on the site, as waste workers have to comply with many obligations. Knowing the sector and the associated legislation is therefore extremely important. That' s why our environmental coordinators are the right partner to support waste processing companies such as Re-Eggermont with these legal obligations.
